Maaya holds a Bachelor's degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada and is currently working on a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies. In the process of completing this degree, she completed thesis project on the effects of increasing knowledge and inducing empathy on prejudice against the Transgendered community, Transphobia. She hopes to continue on in psychology by going to graduate school in Clinical or Applied Social Psychology. Her goals are to research sexuality issues in sexual minority communities, as well as gender variance. Maaya has been an advocate and activist for much of her adult life, and plans on continuing the fight for human rights through her research and activism. She was the Coordinator for Out on Campus, at the University of Windsor, for the 2010-2011 school year.
